A random walk through life or musings of a disturbed mind

Stardock's gamers bill of rights is meaningless, Walk the walk, not the talk. Try 6 Sigma.

Built my own rig. Over 100 apps work but this one... Hmmm I guess they just want my money. Full price for a game that does not work.

Before I became disabled I was an engineer, manager and  management consultant. Several of the many things I consulted on was marketing, contacts, operations, quality control. Used to work in the software industtry as well as about 12 others.

The point is I should not have to be a computer tech or programer to get things to work. In other industries this behavior would put  u out of business very quickly... ie autos, aerospace. cpg....

This is a great way to "Alien"ate your customers, and probably breach of contract. IMO if I  was a fortune 50, stardock would be paying me by now due to non performance, loss of business, etc, I worked for everything from F50 to SMBs. Keep it up and someone will file class actions.

Stardock you know how to reach me and make this right! You force folks to go public.

Note: FYI. for you sad posters who do not understand and call names rather than ask questions. Quit flaming me.

1. This is not a laptop. 780i MB is a desktop. I think Stardock is responisble. do not reply if you are not Stardock. I followed the directions which do not work. This should work "out of the box" every time. No one would accept a car tha works like this.

2. They take money for something that does not owrk and miss every one of the deadlines they made up. I have an email from them promising it in July 2008.. but it was not offered then. This is unethical at best!

IMO as someone who worked in many industries , including IT., Stardock is unprofesstional releasing any software without proper QC methodologies. I did management consulting for a living. This is a professtional option based on years of experience whic you probably don't have. It is not a teenage "hissy fit".

3. You be adult, Quit Being Stardock Appologists. They're not very good. They are taking peoples money and not delivering on the schedule they set. If iI was a consultant to them they would refuse to pay me. unfortunately they have this parrtern of behavior and my money. Just like they cahnge the TGN and took money then opwuld not allow it to be applied to Impluse.

4. Actually Impluse(TM) is their main business, IMO- the programs are a sideLine, since there is more money in the Impluse business model. You get paid by both customers, business and consumers.

5, thier documentation says it does not work for the reasons enuciated by the second poster. I tried the work arounds... it still doen't work... Its just bad programing. It this technology in my rig has been out for about a year now. There is no excuse since it is all mainstream stuff.

quadcore, 780i mb, 280GTX sli, 2TB HDD, 4GB RAM, Vista Ultimate.

You know, it might actually help to explain what your exact problems are rather than throwing a pre teen hissy fit.

I have got to agree with that point.

Also, I read a ton of posts and have not seen you on here before.  I did a quick look up and your only message was back in January with a subject of "i cant get this to play on Xp pro and a xps m170 laptop in beta 2.0 (it works on my quadcore desktop with vista) all my other games work on this laptop too."  The message body read a very helpful "wow...".

From this I can conclude 1 thing.  You actually had it working on 1 computer.  However now it doesn't on both?  Why are you only complaining about the desktop in this post?  I can also conclude you have given us absolutely no useful info other than you are having an issue on a quadcore (manufacturer?) desktop that is pimped and possibly a laptop that runs xp.  You could give so much more info that might not only help others, but also help you solve your problem.

I would be more than happy to help you, as I am sure others in the community would, but you aren't giving us much to work with.  Furthermore your completely rude attitude makes me wonder if working in 13 industries wasn't so much about your proficiency as it was your communication style with others.  If that is not the case, I would like to apologize for your clear frontal lobe "disability", even Phineas Gage lacked this level of inhibition.  I usually am the first to ask people not to be rude, but I cannot for the life of me understand your message.  It is filled with odd quotations and quotes, incomprehensibly obscure references, inflammatory and accusatory statements, inane references to your personal life and over qualification to solve apparently unsolvable computer issue, and absolutely no useful information.  Given this, I am of the opinion you don't want any help, that this is more for the purposes of venting.  If that is the case, cool.

If you want help, let us know by posting useful information.  For example:

What are your laptops specs?

Please post a dxdiag for both

Do you have a logitch camera attached to them?

When did the game stop running on your sweet desktop?  What update version did it last work on?

What kind of problems are you experiencing specifically?

Any of those would be helpful.  The crap above will not be helpful, so avoid it in the future.

Ye this is one of the reasons I trust a kid to install a game better than "engineer, manager and  management consultant" since you people tend to give up the moment you can't pick up a phone and call support. Computers are not newbie friendly, never will be, users fuck em up and then whine and provide 95% crap with 5% valuable information. Thank god I'm not in the support business. Post a damned error report instead of retarded egoistical whine about how great you supposedly are and how far your epen stretches. You know what we do with your kind? Flush em down the drain and wait for em to come crawling back all wet saying sorry.

Watch the language Heretic, its offensive and uncalled for.

1) I don't remember being promised a July beta.  I remember being promised a summer beta, which we just barely got (but definitely did get), and I remember the release date being pushed back so we ultimately got the beta for the same amount of time anyway.

2) No, not full price for a game that does not work.  Full price for a beta that does not work.  Do I need to say that again?  Beta.  In case you didn't realize this, the fact that it is a beta means that it might not work.  If it worked all the time, they wouldn't need a beta in the first place.

3) You don't need to be a programmer to get the beta to work; I got it to work and I'm just a 16-year-old high-school student.  Maybe try asking for help next time.

4) You can't sue Stardock when they have done nothing wrong.  Can't get the game to work after release because of technical issues?  Just get a refund.

5) Act your age (assuming you are actually an adult and not the 12-year-old that you sound like).  To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the reason you have had so many different jobs is because no one wants to keep someone like you in their company and just fires you instead.

Good day sir.

"promises" made before the actual release don't mean anything, stuff always gets pushed back, it's natural.

and if the game doesn't happen to work on your machine but it works on everybody else's...don't blame the developers.

I am actually having trouble with the game and have for the last few updates. My thread is under 'broken game' by lokis222.

If anyone could have a look at the tread and maybe give me a few suggestions on how to fix it, that would be great. I really loved the game and would like to play it again.

If the posted common issues do not cover your problem, then you can't really expect a solution if you never posted any details or reports about your problem; we are not mind-readers. Unless someone else has the *exact* same configuration and issue as you and *is* cooperative, you owe it to yourself to see to it we're at least aware of your issue before blowing up over it.

It's like going to the doctor and demanding he cure you based on only your general specs (ex., caucasian male, 6' tall, 200 lbs.) you but refusing to let him actually examine you. We can't help those who won't help themselves.

Software development is not an exact science. Deadlines slide, and generally it's better for everyone that they can--fixed deadlines tend to lead to more bugs and worse customer experiences overall. But while one might take issue over a moved final release (though unless you've got a signed contract setting the date in stone, you've not really any grounds to go legal with it), I don't really see much grounds for complaint over a beta release coming at the end of the projected window rather than the beginning. You didn't get charged until it started one way or another anyway.

If you do really want to try and get the game working, then by all means, please give more detailed information about the problem. Does it fail to run at all? Does it start but immediately crash or give an error message? Or is there some other issue? Post a dxdiag report (via pastebin, preferably) so we can see what driver versions and such that you have.

So Kryo you read this post saw the excessive language, etc, and DID EXACTLY NOTHING. Now you know why i do not post details and remain anonymous.

See my other post about negative karma. Stardock only cares about... well not people. Just money. This is slander...

This is ridiculous. You're refusing to help Stardock in figuring out your problem because someone on the internet called you a bad name?

You're an idiot. I don't mean that in the general flame sense. I mean as in the literal low IQ definition of an idiot.

I seroiusly doubt your IQ or your education or level of competence is higher than mine.

Folks like you are the reason I won't post details. Try treating others nicely like you were taught at two years old.

That's what stardoc and their defenders remind me of... two and three year old behavior.

Stardocks use of "community" is an oxymoron and "newspeak".

If you have a legitamite problem, e-mail the issue in detail to support@stardock.com.  Posting a vague desription of a "problem", and then citing credentials doesn't help anyone.

We can't help you if you don't explain what your actual issue is.  "This doesn't work" is not enough to figure out a problem.  We're not mind readers.

What is slander, btw?  I didn't get that one.

You're angry that they did nothing despite the fact they have no info to do anything with?
